Metters was a well know Australian company established in Adelaide in 1891 by ‘Frederick Metters’, originally making wood stoves and fire boxes. Production and distribution of Metters equipment was expanded from Adelaide to Perth in 1894. During World War 1, they made large quantities of cooking equipment, which were provided to the Australian armed services.
In 1918 they started to venture into the enamelling business which was based is Sydney, starting with porcelain-enamelled baths. In 1927 Metters started to make enamelled kitchenware, which they are well know for their cream and green range, which was made until the 1950's.
